نينوى (الأكادية: Ninwe; سريانية: ܢܸܢܘܵܐ; بالعبرية: נינוה Nīnewē; باليونانية: Νινευή Nineuē; Naynuwa; فارسية: نینوا باللاتينية: Nineve؛ بالإنگليزية: Nineveh) مدينة آشورية قديمة، على الضفة الشرقية لنهر دجلة، وعاصمة الامبراطورية الآشورية الحديثة.
وكانت أكبر مدينة بالعالم لنحوخمسين عاماً حتى، بعد فترة مريرة من الحرب الأهلية في أراتى آشور، فقد نـُهبت على يد تحالف غير معتاد من شعوب كانت خاضعة للآشوريين من قبل، البابليين، الميديين، الفرس، الكلدان، السكوذيين والكيمريون في 612 ق.م.. وأطلالها مازالت باقية عبر النهر من المدينة الحديثة الكبيرة الموصل، عاصمة محافظة نينوى في العراق.
